Mairead O’Riordan MSC, MISCP is a pre-eminent health practitioner in posture and task analysis, and CEO of TherapyXperts Chartered Physiotherapists, founded in Maynooth Co. Kildare in 1992, known locally as Tx physios.

With over 40 years of practical hands-on skill & expertise to the interlinking areas of musculoskeletal & postural health, rehabilitation, and neck & low back pain, Mairead has worked both clinically and academically, including a decade teaching undergraduate physio students at The Trinity College Dublin School of Physiotherapy.

40 years of clinical practice…15,000+ satisfied patients, several hundred now graduated physiotherapists, Mairead is an educator to the core.

A honed ability to actively listen, comprehend symptom development in an individual’s 24/7 lifestyle, analyse & correct issues, injuries & postural disorders, Mairead is renowned for her practical advice, support and specific, achievable customised exercise regimes to resolve the presentation.

From the Maynooth clinic Mairead & the Tx team expanded into the Occupational Health field by becoming sole providers of Occupational Health physiotherapy to Hewlett Packard @ Liffey Valley Campus from 2001 to closure of the manufacturing plant in 2017. The opportunity to gain significant expertise both in the corporate office environment and high-end manufacturing altered the path of the Maynooth clinic to become a specialised spinal, musculoskeletal (MSK) & occupational physio clinic, rather than the more usual sports based general physio service.

ONLINE ERGO EXPERTISE IN COVID TIMES

The unprecedented move to home working meant that by mid-summer 2020 our corporate clients requested a process to ergonomically assess WFH employees who were reporting neck, shoulder/ low back pain.

Based on the academically sound Australian Bush Model of online delivery of physiotherapy assessment services we designed a thorough, ergonomically sound, cost effective WFH DES assessment process.

Delivered IRL online via through Facetime/ Zoom and other platforms, HOE physios have completed some 250+ online DSE assessments since late summer 2020. The process has proved robust, has been well received by EEs and has cost ERs significantly less than initially suggested.
